Well here it is, the much anticipated Trash the Dress session I’ve ever done. A dream come true, I’ve always wanted to do a Trash the Dress in the jungle with a waterfall. My hopes were high and never thought in a million years that I get to do this. On top of that, trying out underwater photography for the first time. I have so much more respect for underwater photographers now. It’s was one of the hardest shoot I’ve ever done, there’s a million more elements added on top the normal photography. It’s dangerous, high risk and simply just insane. The results, I can honestly say that this is the first time that I’m proud of my work based on everything we been through.
The couple and the location can’t be anymore perfect. A huge hand goes out to Ashley, the most hardcore bride I’ve ever had a pleasure to work with, the water was near freezing, dealing with monster crayfish and everything in between. She was perfect in every way.
Having said that, the shoot didn’t come easy.
- Getting jerked around by the hotel excursions evil empire
- Decided we’re better off on our own
- 45 mins hike into unknown territory
- 40 lbs of gear on my back climbing over boulders and sharp rocks
- Wet feet with sand rubbing between your shoes and flesh
- Risking $20,000+ of camera gear
- Fighting with Monster crayfish
- Near freezing water
Would I do it again?…. HELL YA!!!!!! in a heart beat!
Thank you Jason for all your help, you are an amazing underwater photographer. (I’m trying to switch him over to Nikon
)
